Kathmandu: Nepal has secured a place in the final of the International Women's Football Championship following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Lebanon at the Dasharath Stadium on Tuesday night.
Ace striker Sabitra Bhandari scored the decisive goal in the 42nd minute, with her strike deflecting off Lebanese defender Farah into the net. With this win, Nepal has collected six points, ensuring their place in the final one match ahead of schedule.
In the other match of the day, Myanmar thrashed Kyrgyzstan 5-0, also securing a spot in the final.
The championship will conclude on February 23, with Nepal taking on Myanmar in the title decider at 6:00 PM. Earlier that day, Lebanon will face Kyrgyzstan at 2:00 PM in their final group-stage encounter.
